Where We Will Go

This year’s EXACT ITchallenge is going to take place in the beautiful atmosphere of the FAVORY stud farm (http://www.favory.cz/), in the picturesque landscape between Konopiště and Prague. You can try your luck in the race and then go horse-riding. For children there will be a race prepared too. They will also have the chance to have a ride on ponies or donkeys and have a look at other animals as well. There will be a picnic by fire and a bicycle race prepared for them.

NEW!!!
For the less experienced we have prepared a 35km track.

Favory farm´s program

For those interested in seeing more of the farm there will be guided tours around the farm launched every hour, starting from 12.00 a.m. – the tour takes approx. one hour, the price is CZK 70 per person. From the same time there will be 2 ponies, 1 donkey and 3 horses ready and saddled in the riding hall for people wishing to take a ride. Prospective riders have to buy a ticket at the bar in the former grain barn and submit it to the horse concerned :). The price of the ticket is CZK 20, which covers two rounds in the riding hall and one round in a carriage around the estate. Trasa ITchallenge 2010 o Benešova

Navigation from Beneš

The quickest way to get to Favory stud farm is via Benešov, past Konopiště castle, via Václavice, Chrášťany, Benice and Soběšovice where you have to turn right. Then you have to turn right once again, and you are at the farm.

Favory stud farm

Favory stud farm is based at the Benice baroque estate which is set in an isolated and beautiful mildly rolling landscape abundant with forests and large pastures, a landscape offering ideal conditions for horse breeding and, most importantly, cycling. The first reference to the Benice fort dates back to the 14th century.

This unique three-winged building has the shape of an equilateral triangle with the side length of 114 meters. The sides of the inner courtyard triangle have 75 meters in length and the wings are connected at their ends with gated walls. The last owner of the estate was the Archduke Ferdinand of Austria.

For its historical and architectural value the baroque estate of Benice has been registered as a cultural monument.

Okolo Konopiště race track

Konopiště castle was originally built as a gothic fortress imitating the French forts of the late 13th century. Its probable founder was the bishop Tobiáš from Benešov. Franz Ferdinand of Austria, who bought Konopiště chateau in 1887, has converted it to a spectacular imperial residence. Part of the chateau’s baroque garden is the Rose Garden with conservatories.
